MRO units now Continental Motors Services - Regional Expansion - Integration of avionic business - MRO on all kinds of engines
Oshkosh, Wisconsin on July 29, 2014 - Continental Motors Group Co., Ltd. of Hong Kong, China today announced that it is renaming its MRO services group to Continental Motors Services, Inc. to recognize its expanded offerings and focus on servicing all general aviation aircraft from the smallest propeller aircraft to the largest business jet. Beginning in 1996, Continental Motors has offered an ever expanding line of services in the MRO segment located at the Sonny Callahan Airport (KCQF) in Fairhope, Alabama, USA.
Continental Motors Group recently announced the pending acquisition of Southern Avionics and Communications, Inc. of Mobile, Alabama, USA (subject to normal US government reviews). In addition, the company is in the process of acquiring propeller and other general aviation aircraft maintenance skills to create a full service, customer centric maintenance center in the Southeastern US region.
“Today’s announcement recognizes the skills and respect our team in Fairhope has gained for delivering exceptional service to the customer,” said Rhett Ross, Vice President of AVIC International and Director of the Continental Motors Group. “Renaming the business with the pending addition of Avionics and other general aviation focused maintenance skills will allow us to continue to expand our brand in General Aviation” Ross went on to say.
Southern Avionics has been a regional leader in avionics sales, installation and service since 1981 and employs 14 full time people at the Brookley Aeroplex located at the Mobile Alabama, USA Downtown Airport (KBFM).
Through the years, Southern Avionics has serviced aircraft ranging from small personal aircraft up to large corporate jets. Its team has experience in maintaining, repairing and upgrading all major avionics products, analog and digital. The company represents most major avionics manufacturers worldwide through distribution or representative agreements. It also performs upholstery repairs and upgrades. Continental will expand operations at Brookley Field and add additional capabilities at Fairhope once this acquisition is finalized. Today Continental is pleased to announce that soon, Continental Motors Services will add propeller overhaul and repair capabilities that will accentuate its quality and value of a true one stop shop experience for their customers.
