Mobile (AL, USA), 21 July 2015 — Continental Motors Group Ltd. (CMG), an AVIC International Holding Corporation company, announced today that its subsidiary, Continental Motors, Inc. has completed the acquisition of the assets associated with the operating divisions of Danbury Aerospace (Engine Components International, Inc., Precision Machined Parts, Inc., Airmotive Engineering Corporation, Aircooled Motors, Sterling Machinery and Process, and EC Services, Inc.) as well as the Titan brand of engines and parts.
Danbury Aerospace is a holding company that has led the industry in parts manufacturing authorization (PMA) and experimental engine technologies for the certified and experimental piston engine powered segments of the General Aviation market. Founded in 1943, Danbury Aerospace offers its products under the brand, Engine Components International (ECi) and has been designing and manufacturing components and engines since then. Its capabilities list includes PMA design and certification, engine design and certification, operation of a Part 145 Repair Station for piston aircraft engines and parts, manufacturing process design, manufacturing system design and production and sales, service and support.

“We are delighted to have completed this acquisition and to welcome officially the ECi team into Continental Motors Group. Customers will continue to benefit from the high quality of Danbury Aerospace’s components and engines and customer support for which Danbury and CMG are known,” said Rhett Ross, Vice President, AVIC International and Director, Continental Motors Group. “Further, announcing this in the cradle of Experimental Aviation is especially exciting as this acquisition allows us to enter the experimental aircraft market with our new line of proven Titan 4 and 6 cylinder engines.”

Valentino Passarelli, Director Production, Continental Motors Inc., has been appointed to oversee the transition and integration of the assets acquired from Danbury Aerospace in San Antonio, Texas. “The teams from both companies have already started to integrate in order to operate as one. This means that no disruption in deliveries or lead times will occur and, going forward, that our clients will benefit from the additional resources that Continental Motors brings,” said Passarelli.

As a strategic acquisition, CMG will immediately invest in expanding the product offerings with special focus on the established line of Titan Engines that can be used as an alternative standard Lycoming Engine installation in many Kit and Experimental
Aircraft. The Titan Engine offerings include 4 cylinder engines with horsepower ranging from 145 to 212 HP and 6 cylinder engines with horsepower ranging from 260 to 305 HP. The Titan brand name will continue to be used in the marketplace, because of its strength, particularly in the experimental marketplace.
